150 Staff members of the veteran Camp Gan Israel of Parksville, New York, gathered in preparation of the fiftieth season of the camp. Camp director, Yossi Futerfas, told COL that this would be the most impressive season in terms of the number of campers and in terms of new and exciting programs.

Camp director Rabbi Yossie Futerfas has announced the removal of the payphones and installing free telephone service for everyone. According to Rabbi Futerfas the removal of the payphones will save money for parents and campers. No more calling cards or expensive collect calls. In addition to the free telephone service camp will have a 718 and 845 area codes. The 4 new lines will be installed in the main building.

Camp Director Rabbi Yossie Futerfas has announced that in honor of Gan Yisroel’s 50th Anniversary, the first 50 campers that have registered will be receiving this week a special gift valued at $50.00. Campers that have registered will be receiving this special gift
via USPS.

Camp Gan Yisroel, NY will be having a winter reunion for the campers and staff of CGI Parksville, NY, summer 5765!
The reunion, that will take place IYH on Thursday night 11 Shevat @ Bais Rivkah on Crown Street will include: – Pizza dinner and more – Special Performance – Live Music & Dancing – “Flashbacks” – Special Souvenir – Grand Raffle – Favorite Camp Songs and – Shnozzies Game Show.

At last night’s Staff Play, campers were whisked back to the 16th century, to the times of the Maharal and his Golem. As the sinister plot unfolded, campers cheered, cried, laughed, and sighed, as the realistic drama took surprising twists and turns, until the unexpected finale, where the tables were turned and the plot backfires, amidst great joy and the hope that there will come a time when there will be no more pain or sorrow among the Jewish people, and we will be reunited in Yerushalayim with Moshiach very soon!
