This past Friday, Bunks Beis, Ches, Yud-Aleph and Yud Zayin were treated to two unique activities for winning Shabbos Competition. First up was an exclusive ice cream party complete with no less than twelve different condiment including delicious chocolate chips, colorful jelly beans, fantastic syrups and whip cream, to name a few. Following the sweet culinary experience the campers got to trial one of the several new activities that have been added to the Gan Yisroel lineup this year. Dubbed the Foam Machine. this activity utilizes a high pressure foam producing engine resulting in literally millions of bubbles which campers had a blast playing in. The three teams in BOG War: The war for Moshiach, presented their Grand Play’s Thursday night. With suspenseful scripts, spectacular acting and intricate props they all were fantastically arranged in a mere twenty four hours. First up was the Team of Birur with moving tale about a Doctor attempting to create and refine a cure for a terrible disease. Second was the Team of Leben who took the audience on a trip back in time to the Shabtai Tzvi saga and attempting to live with Moshiach in Golus times. Finally third was the Team of Achdus with a dramatic play about two brothers struggling to keep a family business united in the wake of their father’s death.

This past Wednesday saw the breakout and launch of BOG War 5773 in Camp Gan Yisroel, Entitled: The war for Moshiach! After the surprising breakout, the campers assembled in the Shul for the rules, dividing of the teams and welcomed their two respective Lieutenant Generals and General. After a short break for Mincha and Supper, each team presented their first scavenger followed by Maariv and their second scavenger.

Always at the forefront of technology, CGI has developed a new ground breaking app. Utilizing their smart phones, head staff are able to mark bunk competition ‘on the fly’ with the marks being transmitted in real time, to a central server location. The app also does away with painstaking manual point counting and tallying up with other head staff which results in time being spent more efficiently.
MBP 5773 Update & Gallery
Recognizing each individual camper’s progress and effort has been the focus of this year’s Mishnayos Baal Peh program. At the beginning of the summer, each camper received their own MBP booklet and campers are able to progress through each of the levels at their own pace. Each page of the booklet features a different level with stamps indicating progress. Upon completing a level camper’s receive an automatic prize ranging from VIP cocoa club status and exciting late nights to beautiful seforim sets. Encouraging team progress isn’t left out; with each learning class that completes a set quota eligible for a weekly popcorn party. To date this summer over 13,000 lines of Mishnayos have been learnt!
