Oldest Division & BMD Overnight

Tuesday night saw the Oldest Division together with BMD travel to Neversink Campsite for the Grand Overnight (1st Trip). The campers set up their respective campsites, collected wood and prepared the BBQ dinner. Shortly after the campfires were lit and the kumzitz’s began complete with a full repertoire of camp songs and niggunim. Hours later the camper’s snuggled into their sleeping bags and tents to catch a little shut eye. Dawn broke followed by Shacharis and breakfast, before heading back to camp. A great time was had by all 🙂 .

Visiting Day Photo Wall

Visiting day this past Sunday saw parents and campers able to have their photo taken in front of CGI’s Photo Wall. Building on last year’s success, this time the option was also offered for the photo to be printed on the spot for a small fee. Needless to say the campers and visitors thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and the ‘Photo Booth’ was a hive of an activity the entire day. Enjoy a selection of some of the photos!

BMD ‘Mini Color War’

For the first time in Gan Yisroel history, The BMD (Bar Mitzvah Division) held a ‘Mini Color War’. Team Torah was led by General JJ Hecht (Red) and Team Tefilah was led by Zalmy Shemtov (Blue) competed in skits, songs, relay races and of course davening, bentching and MBP (Mishnayos Baal Peh), all for just a few short hours. Each team went to great efforts to relay and communicate their themes. Ultimately Team Tefilah won (by a miniscule margin of course), mainly due to their impressive job in MBP!
